Parry Aftab — Privacy lawyer and expert on cybercrime

Parry Aftab has devoted her expertise, since 1995, to enhancing cyber-security for business and governmental entities, as well as preventing cyber-crimes. In this field, she wears two hats — one is her commercial role of the cyber-lawyer focused on keeping businesses safe, while the other is her pro-bono hat where she is involved in Internet safety and security for children, seniors, and victims of cyber-abuse. She runs the world's largest online safety group, and works closely with law enforcement agencies worldwide.

Anne Collier

Anne Collier — President and editor of NetFamilyNews

Anne Collier is a writer and journalist who has worked in the news media since 1980. With SafeKids.com’s Larry Magid, she is co-director of ConnectSafely.org, a Web-based interactive forum and information site for teens, parents, educators, and everybody interested in the impact of ‘Web 2.0’ on kids, its most avid users. She and Larry are also co-authors of MySpace Unraveled: A Parent's Guide to Teen Social Networking. Anne founded the nonprofit NetFamilyNews.org in 1999, with the idea that information is empowering for parents in this time when tech literacy has become an essential part of parenting. Anne worked on print, radio, TV, and Web versions of the Christian Science Monitor, served as an editor in consumer magazines, and writes a weekly kid-tech news column for Staysafe.org. She serves on the Advisory Council of the London- and Washington-based Family Online Safety Institute and the Advisory Board of GetNetWise.org in Washington.

The NetSmartz411 Workshop is an interactive, educational safety resource from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) for children aged 5 to 17, parents, guardians, educators, and law enforcement. It uses age-appropriate, 3-D activities to teach children how to stay safer on the Internet. The goal of the NetSmartz411 Workshop is to extend the safety awareness of children to prevent victimization and increase self-confidence whenever they go online.
